Four vehicles were involved in a head-on crash that sent two people to the hospital and closed Highway 115 near Fort Carson Friday morning.

The Colorado State Patrol said crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. when a gray Chevrolet sedan was traveling southbound and crossed apparently crossed into the northbound lanes and hit a Suzuki sport utility vehicle head-on. The Suzuki then traveled into the southbound lanes where it crashed into a Ford pickup truck. Debris from the multi-car crash struck a Mercedes that was traveling behind the truck.

Highway 115 was closed near the U.S. Army base's Gate No. 5 until about 9:30 a.m., the State Patrol said.

The drivers of the Chevrolet and the Suzuki were taken to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
