A Colorado Springs man is in custody after he allegedly led police on a high speed chase Friday night on Interstate 25 through both El Paso and Pueblo counties, the Colorado State Patrol said.
Colorado Springs Police were trying to stop 43-year-old James Buyard in connection with a number of warrants, but he refused, authorities said. He led police on a chase on the interstate through Colorado Springs before local officers called off the pursuit.
Troopers from the State Patrol tracked the vehicle south into Pueblo County and ended up in another chase after trying to stop Buyard, said Trooper Josh Lewis.
After a pursuit exceeding 100 mph, troopers deployed stop sticks and blew out three of Buyard's tires, Lewis said.
The truck ended up in a ditch, and Buyard was taken into custody just outside the Pueblo city limits at mile marker 104.
Buyard was wanted on a felony robbery warrant and on suspicion of domestic abuse and now faces charges relating to the vehicle pursuit, Lewis said.
No one was injured in the chases, Lewis said.
