3. Palmer 0-8 No. 3

1. Pine Creek 6-2 No. 1

2. Falcon 7-1 No. 2

2A & Below

1. Manitou Springs 8-0 No. 1

2. Florence 6-2 No. 2

3. Colorado Springs Christian School 6-2 No. 3

Breakdown: Doherty, Fountain-Fort Carson and Legend all enter Class 5A's final regular-season week tied for the Pioneer League lead. Doherty and Palmer meet on Friday, while Fountain-Fort Carson visits Heritage on Thursday. . Pine Creek effectively clinched the 4A Pikes Peak League title with a win over Ponderosa, playing Air Academy and Rampart to close out the regular season. Sand Creek (18th in wild-card points) meets Vista Ridge (20th) in not only a rivalry game between District 49 schools, but also in a matchup of teams 3-2 in league play both clinging to 4A playoff hopes. . Coronado gets a week off before the Nov. 2 tilt at Discovery Canyon, a game that should decide the league title. . CSCS can forge a Black Forest League tie at the top with a road win at undefeated Buena Vista.

1. Pine Creek 12-1-2 No. 1

2. Liberty 8-6-1 No. 3

3. Doherty 8-6-1 No. 2

1. Air Academy 14-1 No. 1

2. Cheyenne Mountain 12-3 No. 2

3. Lewis-Palmer 10-3-2 No. 3

1. The Classical Academy 14-1 No. 1

2. Manitou Springs 12-3 No. 2

3. St. Mary's 6-9 NR

Breakdown: Pine Creek has an extremely makeable road to the semifinals. If Liberty can win that first-round matchup, Cherry Creek awaits. ... Pencil Air Academy in for the semis now? Not with No. 9 Niwot maybe waiting in the quarters. As nice as it is for Lewis-Palmer to get a No. 11 seed, maybe it would've taken a 12 just to get away from possible matchups with No. 6 Wheat Ridge (second round) and No. 3 Cheyenne Mountain (quarterfinals). ... TCA, a No. 3 this season, was No. 1 last season and stumbled in the quarterfinals. Don't expect that again, though No. 11 Manitou Springs would love to have that opportunity to see its league rival in that round. St. Mary's is not just happy to be in the postseason, but it gets an opponent it is familiar with.

1. Doherty 15-3 No. 1

2. Rampart 17-5 No. 2

3. Pine Creek 12-5 No. 3

1. Lewis-Palmer 17-1 No. 1

2. Cheyenne Mountain 15-2 No. 2

3. Air Academy 18-4 No. 3

3A & Below

1. Manitou Springs 19-0 No. 1

2. Colorado Springs School 18-1 No. 2

3. Colorado Sprigs Christian School 9-9 NR

Breakdown: If Pine Creek can somehow upset Doherty on Wednesday, 5A CSML ends in three-way tie, that could see Rampart go into postseason as league champ via tiebreaker. (By the way, nice tournament victory by the Rams over the weekend). ... If you didn't get enough of that five-set thriller between Lewis-Palmer and Cheyenne Mountain last week, they could play again in Cheyenne Mountain's tournament this weekend. Be neat to see the Indians win, and then have the rubber match be for the state championship, wouldn't it? (Of course, the tourney also includes Doherty, which might have a say in who wins.) ... Tri-Peaks league tournaments start this week. CSCS gets here in this what-have-you-done-for-me-lately world - the Lions swept TCA on Thursday.
