Gazette Premium Content Great American Beer Fest tickets on sale Wednesday

By Scott Rappold Updated: July 30, 2013 at 8:37 am

It’s the largest beer festival in the known universe, making its annual visit to Denver Oct. 10-12, and the scramble among beer lovers to get scarce tickets begins Wednesday.

Tickets sold out in minutes last year and will likely do so again when they go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Wednesday through Ticketmaster. Click here to try to buy. Members of the American Homebrewers Association or the Brewers Association who joined by July 26 can take part in a members-only pre-sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

There are four tasting sessions during the festival at the Colorado Convention Center: Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday afternoon (members only) and Saturday night.

To improve your chances, create a Ticketmaster account in advance and have as many people on a computer at the stroke of 10 to try to help you score tickets.

Still, many beer lovers are sure to be unhappy by 11 a.m. Wednesday when the festival has sold out. But don’t fret. Ticket brokers, as they always seem to, were selling plenty of them at a marked-up price. If you don’t want to pay the scalpers, try Craigslist as the event gets closer.

Good luck!
