Community Partnership for Child Development, which operates Head Start programs in El Paso County, has been awarded a $15,000 grant from The Women’s Foundation of Colorado to help more women in Colorado Springs earn a livable wage.
The organization is one of 23 grantees, who collectively received $520,000 as part of a new Women Achieving Greater Economic Security program.
The three-year program aims to advance more women into high-growth fields with advancement opportunities and provide support services that enable them to meet family needs and invest in their future.
Money will pay for training and job-searching for such careers, along with access housing, food assistance, transportation and healthcare. Advocating for new public policies also is part of the program.
