PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Leaders in South Dakota's visitor industry will gather in Pierre on Wednesday and Thursday to network and discuss ways to increase visitation to the state.

Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen says the 2014 Governor's Conference on Tourism is themed "Think Big. Think Bold. Think Beyond" to reflect a desire to look beyond the state's comfort zone and find ways to shine an even bigger spotlight on visitor offerings.

Sessions will cover such topics as the art of viral social media, customer service, creative thinking and problem solving and insights into the American traveler.

Hagen will present the department's plans for the year, and Gov. Dennis Daugaard will unveil the 2013 economic impact figures at a Thursday night awards night banquet.
