Roll up your sleeves and get set for a career that's just perfect for your love of camping and the outdoors and to keep it safe and pristine in the Colorado Springs area and Pikes Peak region.
A nonprofit with a quarter-century of service to the Pikes Peak area and southern Colorado is hiring. Mile High Youth Corps is looking to staff two crew types, saw and trail, ages 18-24 years old. Saw crews are trained to safely use a chainsaw for various projects.
Trail crews learn to build, maintain and in some cases restore historic sites, noxious weed removal and build fence lines. There are also Crew Leader positions open for applicants with more field experience. Crew Leaders are 21 and older.
Mile High Youth Corps is a steppingstone to careers at the U.S. Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Field Institute and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. A representative with this nonprofit talks with the Gazette's Eric Singer in our exclusive Get a Job Monday segment on Gazette.com.
