Get $300 worth of beer for $13.95

No, that headline wasn’t just a gimmick to get you to click on my blog.

The 7th edition of the Beer Drinker’s Guide to Colorado, published by a Colorado Springs graphics design firm, has been released. As a longtime beer lover, I’ve gotten each one. The second edition in 2009 included coupons for free beer at four breweries around the state, as an enticement to get people to buy the map and travel to new breweries.

The 7th edition has an astonishing 52 coupons for 60 locations around Colorado. Most are for free beers at breweries, though it also features coupons for souvenir glasses, homebrew supplies and beer in a couple liquor stores.

If you only use three of the coupons, you’ll make back the $13.95 it costs to buy the map. But if you live in Colorado Springs, here’s betting you’ll use a lot more. Trinity Brewing, Phantom Canyon, Bristol, Smiling Toad (formerly Kevin Baity), Front Range Barbecue, Rocky Mountain Brewing, Pikes Peak Brewing, Ute Pass Brewing, Paradox,  Colorado Mountain Brewery, Nano 108 Brewing, Rockyard Brewing (Castle Rock),  Hi Country Homebrew, Brewer’s Republic, J & K Liquor – they all want to give you a free beer or other deal if you buy the map.

Traveling around southern Colorado? Buena Vista, Poncha Springs, Pagosa Springs, Alamosa, Del Norte, Durango and Telluride all have beer deals, as do many other mountain areas as well. There are also a ton of coupons for breweries in Denver and the northern Front Range.

So if you’re the type of person who likes to roll into a town and taste the local flavor through its beer – or if you have never visited some of the many breweries in your back yard, pick up a copy of the map.

Look for it for sale at fine liquor stores or click here to order. And enjoy your free beer!
