No. 1: Morgan Hall, jr., Cheyenne Mountain: In arguably the most competitive position, Hall finished in the top three for the second time in her career. She fell to Kent Denver’s Josie Schaffer in the Class 4A semifinals but bounced back through the playbacks, beating Valor Christian and Durango in straight sets to place third.

No. 2: Corey Patton Lossner, sr., Cheyenne Mountain: Lossner became a two-time 4A state champion only after defeating Lewis-Palmer sophomore Austynn Crocker 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 in a match that lasted about 3½ hours. It was the first time Lossner beat Crocker in three tries this season.

No. 3: Ariana Arenson, jr., Cheyenne Mountain: Arenson made a huge leap this season. After helping the Indians’ No. 2 doubles team to a 4A state title in 2017, she transitioned to singles play and advanced to the 4A title match, where she ultimately fell to Niwot.

No. 1: Taylor Heinicke, jr./Jensen Enterman, so., Cheyenne Mountain: Both returning state champions with other doubles partners, Heinicke and Enterman quickly formed a connection and marched through the 4A state tournament, capping it off with a nearly 3-hour, three-set win over Mullen in the finals.

No. 2: Emma Delich, fr./Sydney Wagner, so., Cheyenne Mountain: The duo’s road to the 4A finals wasn’t easy as they were tested by Palmer Ridge’s Paiton Riggle and Tessa Rothwell in a three-set semifinals. In the title match, Delich and Wagner ultimately fell in three sets to Niwot.

No. 3: Samantha Cordasco, fr./Kate Danis, jr., Air Academy: The pair had to fight their way back after losing in the 4A semifinals to eventual champion Niwot. Cordasco and Danis stuck with it and earned a spot in the third-place match, which they lost to Loveland.

No. 4: Zola Bzdek, sr./Maggie Dwyer, so., Cheyenne Mountain: The duo won in straight sets up until the 4A title match, in which they fell 6-3, 6-4 to Niwot. They were playing together for the first time this season.
