Air Academy

Coach: Kali Maxwell, second year

Last year: 12-5 (7-0 Southern)

Returning starters: Reagan Brenenstuhl, jr., attack; Jessica Cox, sr., attack; Sydney Grad, sr., defense; Whitney Moran, sr., midfield; Avery Rodny, jr., midfield; Sam Valtin, sr., defense/midfield.

Outlook: The Kadets won a competitive Southern League last season and return six starters this year.

Notes: The Kadets won two playoff games a year ago.

Cheyenne Mountain

Coach: Marc Luckett, fifth year

Last year: 11-6 (4-3 Southern)

Returning starters: Nicole Beaulieu jr., midfield; Mallory Hybl, sr., attack; Elizabeth LaJoie, sr., defense; Madelyn Lewis, sr., attack/midfield; Abagail Luce, so., midfield; Rylie Maready, jr., midfield; Sydnee Pinell, sr., goalie; Claire Zable, sr., defense.

Other top athletes: Lydia Glatt, jr., attack; Madison Luster, jr., attack.

Outlook: "We lost very few seniors last year, so have a strong field of returning starters," Luckett said. "Rounding them out are some strong younger players that will bolster the roster."

Notes: Luckett expressed how important this senior class is to him: "I started coaching most of them in fifth-sixth grade and have been able to watch them develop as players and young adults over all of the intervening years. Seeing them grow from excited little elementary school kids into the confident, accomplished, young women that they've become is the real reason why I coach."

Coach: DJ Stabler, third year

Last year: 6-8 (3-4 Southern)

Returning starters: Camille Callahan, jr., attack; Meagan Gehling, sr., goalie; Megan Mann, jr., midfield; Olivia McCrary, sr., midfield; Taylor Rahalewich, jr., attack; Abby Ross, jr., attack; Rachel Sullivan, jr., attack; Jordan Valentine, sr., defense; Sierra Vaught, sr., defense.

Other top athletes: Michelle Kitchen jr., defense.

Outlook: "We believe that the work our athletes have put in over the last two seasons, and the progress that they have made, have prepared them to make a run in the playoffs," Stabler said. "We expect to see and can't wait to watch this team take Liberty lacrosse to the next level."

Palmer Ridge

Coach: Sue Walker, first year

Last year: 11-5 (6-1 Southern league)

Returning starters: Paige Campbell, sr., defense; Holly Esposito, so., defense; Jenna Lewis, sr., attack; Madison Miller, sr., attack; Liz Phillips, sr., midfield

Other top athletes: Giselle Jimenez, so., defense; Eve Phillips, so., attack.

Outlook: "Palmer Ridge has a solid upcoming young team," Walker said. "We have only four seniors this season. This will be an exciting season for the Bears."

Notes: Liz Phillips signed to play lacrosse at the University of Colorado. The senior has 112 goals in 45 games.

Pine Creek

Coach: Roger J. Wallace, 19th year

Last year: 11-5 (5-2 Southern)

Returning starters: Julia Anarumo, jr., attack; Madeleine Bourgois, jr., midfield; Olivia Crews, jr., defense; Kate Hatchell, sr., midfield; Riley Hatchell, sr., midfield; Kelly Henderson, jr., attack; Devin Morgan, sr., goalie; Peneal Schwab, so., defense; Ashley Starkey, jr., midfield; Brit White, jr., midfield.

Outlook: "We are looking for a breakout year," Wallace said. "We know our competitors will be looking to knock us down. Our core players have been conditioning since last summer. We believe they will be coming out with a little swagger and we hope those players that elected not to participate in the offseason conditioning will realize they made a calculated mistake."

Notes: The Eagles only have three seniors on the team, which Wallace believes is a great sign for the future of the program.

Coach: Justin Chidester, first year

Last year: 2-12 (2-5 Southern)

Returning starters: Katie Casey, sr., goalie; Emily Cruz, sr., defense; Mackenzie Dudevoir, jr., attack; Mackenzie Fontana, jr., midfield; Elizabeth Glazener, sr., midfield; Lucy Johnson, sr., midfield

Outlook: Chidester takes over the program that has gone 6-22 over the last two seasons. Chidester was on the Air Academy girls' lacrosse staff when it won the state title in 2014 and was the Kadets' coach in 2015.
