Coach's Outlook: Balance on team, divers, and a lot of new guys. We graduated over half of our team last year. New leadership.

Notes: Our area has a ton of top-level competition from multiple schools. Griffin Ayotte is an outstanding junior with more than one All-American cut, and will have competition from multiple swimmers in every event. There are no easy races anymore.

Coach's Outlook: I anticipate a fun year with a lot of fast swimming. In dual meets, we should be a competitive team within our league. We have a core of returning state qualifiers and are looking forward to their growth on the state level. Plus, we have an experienced senior class that should help the underclassmen.

Coach's Outlook: This is the strongest team that we've had since I took over as head coach. We should be much more competitive at conference and 4A state meet. The guys are really excited about our potential this year. A lot of the club swimmers are already in great form.

Notes: We look to break a number of school records just based on how people are swimming already. Our conference meet should be very exciting, as we look to place potentially the highest that we've ever placed - as well as at state meet. Returning swimmer Braden Whitmarsh looks to have a breakout year, as does Rob Clayton, Tommy Rauchut and Andrew McGill.

Coach's Outlook: It will be a true team effort to qualify for the 5A state meet. Will need to see a great connection with the teammates to reach the standards in all three relays. All team will need to stand behind junior diver Benji Troutman as he attempts to qualify for state for the first time as well as senior captain Keaton Adams as he looks to qualify individually in the 50 freestyle.

Fountain-Fort Carson

Notes: Senior Nick Orie, who has placed individual at 5A each of his three years, scored a 1580 (or something really close to that) on his SAT Math & English.  He's headed for the AFA next year.

Last year: 3-5 (3-3 5A Colorado Springs Metro)

Returning athletes: Troy Legg 200 IM and 100 Breast

Other top athletes: Several picked up state experience last year on relays

Coach's Outlook: We will be a little bit younger, but it will be fun to watch the growth and development throughout the season. Although younger, we should see some pretty good success as we go during the season.

Coach: Kyle Gilliam

Last year: 0-6 (0-6 5A Colorado Springs Metro)

Returning athletes: Kory Crutcher, So (500 Free and 200 Free); Skyler Gilliam, So(100 Fly and 100 Breast); Connor Nelson, Jr (100 fly 100 free); Nathanial Porter, Sr (100 breaststroke and 100 Free); Tito Vega, So (Diving); Bailey Warford, Sr (100 backstroke 200 Freestyle)

Other top athletes: Ryan Albright, Fr (100 breast and 200 IM); Giles Lewis, Fr (200 IM and 100 fly); Reece MacRenato, Jr (50 and 100 Free); Monroe Mozee, Fr (100 breast and 50 free)

Coach's Outlook: There’s a tremendous amount of excitement around the pool at Palmer High School. Palmer enters the 2018 season with a new coaching staff led by coach Kyle Gilliam, assistant coach Reed Carlson and diving coach Karen Owens, and a young, vibrant team with a few returning upperclass leaders. These young men are prepared to carry on the great tradition of Palmer swimming and will certainly garner the attention of others.

Notes: After the loss of three state qualifiers last year, we have a fast group of freshmen sure to turn the heads of others.  The addition of a past state qualifier, Reece MacRenato, is a nice addition to the team.

Widefield/Mesa Ridge

Coach: Susan Wickberg, 17th season

Last year: N/A

Returning athletes: N/A

Other top athletes: N/A

Notes: We haven't had a boys' swim team for the last two years. We're excited to bring it back this year. Only two of our swimmers have any competitive team experience, So everything is going to be new.
