Gazette, CC host community conversation on homelessness tonight

The Gazette and Colorado College are sponsoring a forum and community discussion on homelessness in the downtown area on Thursday at Armstrong Hall, 14. E Cache La Poudre, on the CC campus.

The forum begins at 6 p.m. with a panel discussion that includes Suzi Bach, who has been researching homeless issues and services; Richard Skorman, downtown businessman; Bob Holmes, executive director of Homeward Pikes Peak; M.J. Thomson of the Colorado Springs Police Department's Homeless Outreach Team; Sarah Stacy, director of the Springs Rescue Mission's Resource Advocate Program; Richard Peitzman, who was homeless and now works with the Set Free Biker's Church; and James Dixon, an outreach worker for the Marian House. CC President Jill Tiefenthaler will moderate.

At 7:15 p.m., audience members can take part in small-group discussions facilitated by Food for Thought, a program of the Colorado Springs Diversity Forum.

The program, which ends at 8:15 p.m., is free and open to the public.
