PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gasoline prices continue to fall in Rhode Island, though the price remains above the U.S. average.
The weekly price survey released Tuesday by AAA Southern New England found the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in the state is $3.47 per gallon, down 6 cents from last week's average of $3.53.
AAA says local prices have fallen 22 cents in the last month. The current price is still 13 cents higher than the national per-gallon average of $3.34, which is unchanged from last week.
A year ago, Rhode Islanders were paying 47 cents more on average, or $3.94 a gallon.
