Retired Navy Lt. Jim Downing and his son, Don Downing, review a framed birthday letter from President Barack Obama on Thursday at the elder Downing's birthday party, held at The Navigators. The former sailor, believed to be the oldest living Pearl Harbor survivor, celebrated his 100th birthday at the Colorado Springs-based ministry, which he helped launch in the 1930s.
