Sand Creek High School teacher Todd Matia (far left) received the Lemelson-MIT Program Excite Award earlier this month, which means he and his InvenTeam are eligible as a finalist for a $10,000 innovation grant from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The team of students have been meeting with their teacher this summerto to work on developing a water filtration system for use in Third World countries. They'll present it a year from now at MIT.
