Double Amputee Mandy Horvath Climbs Pikes Peak

Mandy Horvath conquered the mountain. The double amputee scooted and crawled her way to the top of Pikes Peak.

Mandy Horvath pulls herself over the rocks nearing the summit of Pikes Peak. Horvath started climbing Pikes Peak on Sunday and finished the miraculous feat late Wednesday, June 13, 2018. She was accompanied by her friend Daniel Pond. Mandy had her legs amputated after a train accident. She is a student at UCCS. Horvath is originally from Smithville, Missouri. She started her journey on Sunday afternoon. She was accompanied on the trip by her friend, Daniel Pond (center), and met by her brother, Maverick Pond, in the final stretch.
