Pikes Peak Region Peace Officers' Memorial Dedication

The Pikes Peak Region Officers' Memorial was dedicated at a ceremony in Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 18, 2018.

Memorial
Since 2005, the Pikes Peak Region Officers' Memorial has been a dream. Fundraising started in 2006 and the dream became a reality with the unveiling of the "Lion of Lucerne" on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. On the base of the statue is the name of the officers who died in the line of duty from law enforcement agencies across the Pikes Peak region. The sculpture is located in Memorial Park next to Prospect Lake. The sculpture is based one in Switzerland that was carved during the early part of the 19th century, honoring the Swiss Guards who lost their lives in 1792 during the French Revolution.
