Pumpkins fly at Fountain Creek Punkin' Chunkin' event

Pumpkins, apples and potatoes flew across a field at the El Paso County Fountain Creek Nature Center, launched by an enthusiastic group of kids, family members and volunteers on Saturday, November 25, 2017. The Punkin' Chunkin' event was the first of its kind at the center, and disposed of dozens of pumpkins across the field for deer, squirrels, mice and other animals to eat.

The slingshot wasn't very strong so that even young kids could use it, but it was able to send pumpkins about 20 feet.
