Colorado shelters receive animals affected by Harvey

To make room for animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey, Acadiana Animal Aid delivered dogs and cats by plane to Colorado rescues and humane societies on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2017.

Acadiana Animal Aid, west of Baton Rouge, will soon be filled with dogs and cats from the Houston Humane Society and other affected areas because of Hurricane Harvey. The rescue transported the dogs and cats by plane to Cutter Aviation in Colorado Springs to find homes and make room for the dogs and pets displaced by the floods. They will be taken to four Colorado rescues: Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, Pueblo Animal Services, Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport and Ark-Valley Humane Society.(Photo by Jerilee Bennett, The Gazette)
