Sale day at the Colorado State Fair was a bittersweet day for Sierra Churchill of Peyton, Colorado. She was selling her prize steer, Jamming, that she had raised and nurtured to win first prize in his weight class. Tears welled up while she waited to show her steer at the Junior Livestock Sale on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Her steer sold for $4250, money that will be used to go to college at Oklahoma State University where she is going to major in agriculture. (The Gazette/Jerilee Bennett)
