After the late Summer rains last year, rural areas in El Paso County were overrun with tumbleweeds. Crews from the El Paso County Dept. of Transportation were spending many hours trying to clear tumbleweed-choked roads. On Wednesday, June 25, 2014, representatives from the county unveiled a new tumbleweed eater that they built by modifying a used John Deere tractor. (The Gazette/Jerilee Bennett)
