A Miracle Mile
Students at Divine Redeemer Catholic School collect more than a mile worth of food for the parish's food pantry. Last minute donations after The Gazette and Side Streets Bill Vogrin wrote about the school's efforts pushed the total to more than 6,000 feet of food. Donations may still be left at the Colorado Springs school.
Divine Redeemer Catholic School pre-kindergartners Audrey Kriss, left, Gianna Pallotto and Kallie Bade help load some of the food collected by the students for World Food Day and the school's 57th birthday after they laid out the items end-to-end in the school's gym Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. The 198 students collected enough food for the parish's food pantry to stretch a mile long, more than 30 feet per student. (The Gazette, Christian Murdock)
