Honor Flight Welcomed Home

World War II veterans were all smiles when they returned from their trip to Washington, D.C. in which they visited the war memorials that pay tribute to those who fought in World War II.

Welcome Home

Veterans were greeted by a cheering crowd of family, friends, the Patriot Guard and active duty members of the military as they returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. with Honor Flight of Southern Colorado. Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that gives WWII veterans a chance to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. with an all expenses paid trip. They were being greeted at their hotel on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2013, before heading to their homes. (The Gazette/Jerilee Bennett)
