A free online course for parents to help their teens become safer drivers is available at www.COTeenDriver.com.

The Colorado Teen Driving Alliance created the new resource. Parents will learn how they can limit their teen's risks while driving by enforcing safe driving practices and limiting distractions.

The course was prompted by a recent Colorado Department of Public Health survey that showed only 6.4 percent of 700 parents of teens throughout Colorado could accurately identify components of the graduated driver licensing law. The law covers curfew times, seat belt usage, the number of passengers allowed and a ban on all cell phone use.
