The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is hosting a free “Manufacturing Career Exploration Night” for high school students and parents, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road.
The event will introduce attendees to the vast career opportunities in manufacturing. Pizza will also be provided.
More than 3,000 jobs that pay well are open in the manufacturing industry in Colorado, according to the center, such as CNC Machinist apprentice, which starts at $36,000 a year, and Machinist/MILL CNC operator, which has an annual salary of $42,000. The average salary for a Product Designer/Engineer in Colorado is $76,000 per year.
