Four more Colorado ski areas, including three in Summit County, set to open

Summit County is coming to life.

Breckenridge and Keystone will start running their lifts at 9 a.m. Friday, with Copper Mountain also planning to open that day. With Arapahoe Basin having kicked off Colorado's ski and snowboard season Oct. 13, the county boasting four world-class ski areas is set to bustle again with powder hounds from near and far.

Breckenridge has replaced its Falcon SuperChair with a high-speed, six-person lift in hopes of lowering wait times up to the popular Peak 10. Keystone will debut a similar lift, the Montezuma Express, to increase efficiency across the mountain.

Loveland Ski Area has been running lifts since Oct. 20. Wolf Creek Ski Area is set to open for weekends starting Saturday. Here's a look at other slated openings across the state:

Howelsen Hill: Nov. 25

Monarch Mountain: Nov. 22

Powderhorn: Dec. 15

Purgatory: Nov. 18

Silverton Mountain: Dec. 28

Steamboat: Nov. 22

Sunlight Mountain: Dec. 8

Telluride: Nov. 23

Vail: Nov. 17

Winter Park: Nov. 15
