A Fort Carson soldier was recovering from nonlife-threatening injuries after being shot when a fight broke out early Saturday outside The Thirsty Parrot Bar & Grill.
About 1:30 a.m., three soldiers got in an argument in the downtown bar at 32 S. Tejon St. Colorado Springs police officers said the soldiers continued to argue after leaving the bar, and that one of them fired a shot from a handgun in a nearby alley.
One of the soldiers was taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg.
The name of the soldier who was shot was not released and no arrests have been announced.
The shooting is the latest in an outbreak of gun violence throughout Colorado Springs in the past month in which several people have been killed or wounded.
