Fort Carson officials evacuated Butts Army Airfield in response to an anonymous bomb threat Wednesday morning.

Military police and other forces were investigating and sweeping the complex, home to the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, for explosives.

The airfield sits behind layers for security, including its own guarded gate.

The post said it would release details on the investigation as they became available.
