A mild Wednesday is expected to be the beginning of a warming trend over the next few days around Colorado Springs.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, regional temperatures are forecast to reach the 40s and 50s with sunny skies. Wednesday is expected to start off in the teens before it warms up in the afternoon.

Colorado Springs could see a high of 47 degrees with sunny skies, the Weather Service predicted. The average high for Feb. 7 is 43 degrees and the record high is 71 degrees, according to www.intellicast.com.

The city is forecast to see warmer days with a high of 57 degrees Thursday and 54 degrees Friday.

A weather shift could come Saturday, when, forecasters say, a snow storm could move in.

There's a 40 percent chance of snowfall that day, the Weather Service said.

"The weekend brings some changes," Gazette news partner KKTV said in a report. "It will be much colder with highs only in the 30s! A chance for snow is possible, too."
