The Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert status due to the severe weather and excessive call volume. Police have also tweeted that hail up to an inch and half has been reported south of the Air Force Academy.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a flash flood warning for Colorado Springs, Black Forest, and Pikeview until 5:45 p.m. A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect until 4:45 p.m.
According to a Weather Service tweet, quarter-sized hail and winds up to 60 mph are possible.
Severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit Colorado Springs Friday afternoon into Friday night, meteorologists say.
The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and a 40 percent chance before midnight.
Large hail - up to 2 inches in diameter - is possible.
Though the storm is expected to be less extreme, chances of thunderstorms and showers will continue through Saturday night, ending about midnight.
Sunday morning is forecast to be most cloudy before another chance of thunderstorms and rain moves into the city Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.
