Above average temperatures and wind in Colorado Springs prompted meteorologists to issue a red flag warning Thursday in Colorado Springs.
The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted a high of 83 degrees-14 degrees above average-and winds between 5 and 10 mph in the morning and 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Temperatures are forecast to gradually drop Friday and through the weekend as rain moves into Colorado Springs Friday afternoon. The weather service expects a high of 75 degrees Friday, 61 degrees Saturday and 66 degrees Sunday.
Chances of showers is 30 percent Friday afternoon through Saturday night, with thunderstorms possible Saturday afternoon.
Though the storm is predicted to clear Saturday night through Sunday morning, thunderstorms are forecast to return Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.
