Thursday's red flag warning is extended through Friday night, as breezy, dry conditions continue in Colorado Springs.
The National Weather Service in Pueblo forecast a high of 84 degrees- three degrees below the record- with winds blowing between 5 and 10 mph in the morning and 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
The red flag warning extends across most of southern Colorado, from Springfield in the southeast, to Woodland Park in the north and San Luis in the southwest.
Winds are expected to die down throughout the day Saturday, decreasing from 15 to 25 mph midday to 5 to 10 mph in the evening. The high is predicted to be 77 degrees, 11 degrees higher than the average, the weather service said.
The weekend is forecast to end with sunny skies during the day, then a slight chance of thunderstorms between 7 and 10 p.m.
