Forecast: Record high possible Thursday in Colorado Springs

Colorado springs is under a red flag warning, as temperatures as expected to reach record highs Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted a high of 86 degrees Thursday- exceeding the record high set in 1979 by 2 degrees- with mostly sunny skies and winds blowing between 15 and 20 mph.

Temperatures are expected to drop slightly to a high of 82 degrees Friday, though the city will still be under a fire weather watch.

Over the weekend, temperatures are predicted to be in the mid- to high 70s, with a high of 76 degrees Saturday and 73 degrees Sunday.
