At TCA: Peter Troupe made a fantastic catch before he made an heroic one.
Troupe hauled in the game-winning 41-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter before he held onto a first-down reception despite being knocked out on a third-and-10 play which let TCA (5-2, 2-0 3A Southern) run out the clock against Pueblo East (3-4, 1-1).
"I don't know which one was better," TCA coach David Bervig said of Troupe, who also scored on a 1-yard run. "We needed both to win. If he doesn't hold onto both we probably lose."
Quarterback Jantzen Ryals threw for 161 yards and Andrew Register ran for 74 yards and scored a touchdown in the Titans' fifth win in six weeks, this one.
Falcon 24, Ponderosa 14
At Ponderosa: A week after suffering its first loss of the season, Falcon (6-1, 3-1 4A Pikes Peak) dealt Ponderosa (4-3, 3-1) its first league loss.
Trailing 14-0 after the first quarter, the Falcons scored the last 24 points to run away with the win.
Kalen Ballage and Justin Barron each rushed for touchdowns, and Dylan Cutkomp scored a defensive touchdown for the Falcons.
Coronado 28, Lewis-Palmer 0
At Lewis-Palmer: Josh Duvall ran for a 91-yard touchdown, Austin Micci added a 63-yard rushing score and undefeated Coronado (8-0 overall, 2-0 3A South Central) again dominated its opponent with a steady dose of running and smothering defense.
Against Lewis-Palmer (2-6, 0-2), Duvall led the offense with 151 yards on 13 carries, Micci added 10 runs for 130 yards and the Cougars ran for 348 yards.
After eight games, Coronado has rushed for more than 150 yards all but once and have kept its opponent to fewer than 14 points in every contest.
The Cougars will try to stay undefeated next weekend at Woodland Park.
Mesa Ridge 42, Cheyenne Mountain 6
At Mesa Ridge: Mesa Ridge running back Tremell Stanley ran for 231 yards and five scores in the first half on homecoming for the Grizzlies (4-3 overall, 2-2 4A foothills), who routed visiting Cheyenne Mountain (1-6, 0-4).
Stanley, a 5-foot-6 senior, rushed for more than 1,000 yards on the season after Friday and doubled his TD count to 10 in less than 24 minutes of game time.
"We are starting to grow up a little bit. Our offensive line is starting to block better and our backs are getting after it," Mesa Ridge coach Rob Braaten said. "We created a lot of good things today."
Stanley scored on runs of 42 and 6 yards in the first quarter, and ended his day with rushing TDs of 6, 15 and 29 yards in the second quarter.
Mesa Ridge led 42-0 at half.
In the second half, Cheyenne Mountain's Nathan Resty caught a 6-yard pass from Bryan Zerr to make it 42-6 with 46 seconds remaining.
Vista Ridge 63, Air Academy 0
At Vista Ridge: Jaquan Overbey scored on an 85-yard kick return and 20-yard run, Dedrick Lee added scores from 9 and 1 yards, and Vista Ridge (4-3 overall, 2-2 4A Pikes Peak) crushed winless Air Academy (0-7, 0-4).
Elway Tubbs went 19-for-25 passing for 237 yards for the Wolves, while opposing-quarterback Adam Brown went 13 for 28 with 104 yards in the loss.
Valor Christian 42, Doherty 6
At Valor: Christian McCaffrey scored five touchdowns in the first half, and Valor Christian handed Doherty (5-2) its second loss in three weeks.
Spartans quarterback Evan Powell went 16 for 26 for 172 yards with a touchdown and interception, and running back Zach Young ran 23 times for 120 yards in the loss.
The Eagles beat Fountain-Fort Carson 40-0 two weeks ago.
Trinidad 18, St. Mary's 3
At Trinidad: St. Mary's quarterback Hayden Smith threw three interceptions and ran for minus-10 yards for the Pirates (0-7, 0-5 2A Tri-Peaks), while Trinidad (4-3, 4-1) took an 18-0 lead into the fourth.
St. Mary's has scored seven or fewer points for the sixth time this season.
