Cutting in line at a food cart downtown dangerously escalated when Colorado Springs police said a man threatened a group of people with a knife Sunday.

Jaypheth Gosuk, 24, was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing and booked into the El Paso County jail on a $2,000 bail, court records show.

According to police, Gosuk was at a food cart on the intersection of Pikes Peak and Nevada avenues around 1:17 a.m. and got into an argument with someone over cutting in line.

Gosuk allegedly pulled out a large knife and threatened to attack the person he argued with and a group of people nearby.

Officers reportedly saw Gosuk holding the knife and approaching a witness, at which point they held him at gunpoint and took him into custody without incident.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
