Fog causes traffic light malfunction

Monica mendoza The Gazette - Published: March 1, 2014

Heavy fog in northeast Colorado Springs caused traffic light sensors to malfunction Saturday.

Sensors were not being triggered and lights were not cycling, police said, causing safety hazards. A city spokeswoman said the sensors were dismantled and the signals set on timers to automatically cycle, regardless of traffic flow.

Report malfunctioning traffic lights to police at 444-7000.
