Heavy fog in northeast Colorado Springs caused traffic light sensors to malfunction Saturday.

Sensors were not being triggered and lights were not cycling, police said, causing safety hazards. A city spokeswoman said the sensors were dismantled and the signals set on timers to automatically cycle, regardless of traffic flow.

Report malfunctioning traffic lights to police at 444-7000.
