Flood warning issued for southern Colorado Springs

A flash flood warning has been issued for southern Colorado Springs between Fort Carson and Widefield until 8:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo said the heaviest rain is currently in the northern part of Fort Carson and the surrounding southwest Colorado Springs area. The weather service also reported high water on I-25 near South Academy Boulevard, mile marker 135. Traffic on the interstate is slow, but there are no reports of flooding.
