The Federal Emergency Management Agency extended its deadline to register for disaster assistance related to the September flood until Dec. 2.
The move was done “because of the long Thanksgiving weekend,” a news release sent out Monday said. The deadline gives those applying for individual assistance and small business assistance related to the mid-September floods along the Front Range two days beyond the previously announced Nov. 30 deadline.

The extension is for all 11 Colorado counties affected by the storms that washed out roads, left thousands displaced and claimed nine lives. Included in the list designated for assistance are El Paso, Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek, Fremont, Jefferson, Larimer, Logan, Morgan and Weld counties.
