Firefighters respond to structure fire in northwest Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs fire department responded to a structure fire at the Centerpointe Apartments Monday, fire Capt. Steve Wilch said.

The fire was at 135 West Rockrimmon Blvd and began on a 2nd floor apartment and spread to an upper apartment, the Colorado Springs fire department tweeted Monday. Firefighters evacuated 12 apartments and six apartments were directly impacted by smoke or fire. Gazette news partner KKTV reported that firefighters had the blaze under control by 12:30 p.m.
