Firefighting crews quickly contained a structure fire on the 11000 block of Teachout Road, El Paso County Sheriff's Office public information officer Lt. Jeff Kramer said.

Black Forest Fire Department led the operation, with assistance from the Wescott Fire Protection District.

"The call came in approximately around 1 p.m. and firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze to the house," Kramer said.

Sheriff's deputies evacuated some nearby homes for the residents' safety, but the fire did not extend into the forest surrounding it, Kramer said.

The cause of the house fire, located west of Black Forest Road and south of Burgess Road, was under investigation Sunday evening and crews were assessing the damage, according to Kramer. No injuries were reported.
