Coach of the year: Paul Lewis
Paul Lewis pushed Palmer Ridge deep into the postseason for the third consecutive season despite youth and a season filled with nagging injuries.
The Bears eventually lost to Colorado Academy 7-2 in the semifinals, but it was another eye-opening season for all those around the state.
"I think we are building a steady program here," Lewis said. "And hopefully with some work with middle schools around us, we can get kids playing younger and developing a little faster for us so we can compete on an even playing field with some of the Denver schools."
Lewis won two medals in field hockey on the Australian national team, and also works with Olympic-caliber U.S. field hockey players in the offseason.
Frankly, no matter where he's gone in field hockey, success has followed.
"I don't know where we'd be without Coach Lewis," senior Jessica Berg said. "We learned everything from him. He has been with us since the beginning of most our careers and helped us through everything along the way. I can't thank him enough."
