Alfred Morris, RB, Dallas Cowboys
With the Cowboys’ offensive line struggling to protect quarterback Dak Prescott and the Los Angeles Chargers coming to town this Turkey Day, Morris should get plenty of volume as a runner Thursday. The way to take the sting out of the Chargers pass rush, which ranks third in the NFL with 30 sacks on the season, is to run the football and Los Angeles’ run defense has been friendly to enemy running backs. The Chargers rank dead last in rushing yards allowed with 1,389 on the year and an equally putrid 4.9 yard-per-carry average. He’s not Zeke Elliott but look for Morris to feast on the Chargers this Thanksgiving.
Samaje Perine, RB, Washington Redskins
Perine is coming off the best game of his young career, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries against New Orleans last week. He gets a beauty of a matchup this Thanksgiving against the Giants who surrender 132.7 rushing yards a game which is the third-highest total in the league. Despite the 4-6 record, Washington has been competitive in nearly every game they’ve played and I like Perine’s chances to have another big game Thursday. He is listed as questionable with a finger injury so his status should be carefully monitored.
Marvin Jones, WR, Detroit Lions
One of the things Jones may not be thankful for this holiday is that he’ll draw coverage from top Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes. In three games, Jones has not had a 5-yard receiving day, a 54-yard receiving day and a 42-yard receiving day (which came earlier this season) with no touchdowns in any of the contests. Normally a reliable start, Jones is a shaky prospect at best this Thanksgiving Thursday.
Dez Bryant,WR, Dallas Cowboys
Bryant hasn’t been a reliable fantasy asset this season, struggling with inconsistency and he hasn’t found the endzone in four weeks. Unfortunately for him and his fantasy owners, I think that streak will continue on Thanksgiving when the Cowboys take on the Chargers. Since Week 6 against Oakland, Los Angeles hasn’t allowed more than one receiving touchdown to opposing teams, that includes a matchup against Tom Brady and the Patriots. Though the volume has been there for Bryant he’s not a player I have confidence in playing this week.
