Gazette Premium Content Falcons rally to 4-2 win at Army for a sweep

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Air Force erased a two-goal deficit in the second period for a 4-2 win over Army in an Atlantic Hockey Association game Saturday. Air Force earned its first sweep at Army since 2001. The Falcons improved to 12-6-4 overall and 7-3-3 in the league in a tie for third. Army fell to 3-16, 3-12.

Despite being outshot all game, Army led 2-0 after the opening minute of the second period.

Air Force answered at the 3:16 mark on a pass from Ryan Timar to Mitch Torrel. Two goals in 16 seconds, starting at the 15-minute mark, by Alex Halloran and Tony Thomas, made it 3-2 Falcons.

It stayed that way until Chad Demers forced a turnover and Scott Holm fed Cole Gunner for an empty-net goal with 1:11 left in the game. Air Force's Chris Tuehl had 14 saves.
