Colorado Springs police have identified Caja Jean Gray, 33, as the suspect of a possible arson after she allegedly started a fire in her ex-boyfriend's basement Saturday.

Police arrested Gray on suspicion of domestic violence-related arson, burglary and assault Sunday evening. She was booked into the El Paso County jail and held without bond, court records show.

Investigators discovered that Gray was the ex-girlfriend of a man whose basement was set ablaze at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Police said Gray allegedly tried to break into her ex-boyfriend's home in the 900 block of West Cucharras Street and assaulted him during an altercation. When he fled the residence and tried to get help, investigators said Gray started the fire.

Officers used a garden hose to douse the flames until Colorado Springs fire crews arrived and extinguished it.
