INDIANAPOLIS — Understand, the Broncos have money.

The NFL salary cap limits how much money the Broncos can spend on players. Salary cap constraints might force some of the Broncos' better players off the roster.

But if spending $2 means they will win when $1 means winning is iffy, the Broncos have demonstrated that they will spend $2.

Already, the Broncos have given football operations boss John Elway a new four-year contract while adding "general manager" to his front-office title. They have retained defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio with a new two-year contract.

Saturday, Elway will sit down with agent Bob Lamonte to discuss a contract extension for coach John Fox.
