A five-year El Paso County sheriff's deputy was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of introducing contraband in the first degree and unlawful possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute, both felonies, and official misconduct, a misdemeanor, the Sheriff's Office reported.
Steven D'Agostino, who turns 35 on Wednesday, has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since March 20, 2013, a Sheriff's Office news release says. He was assigned to floor security at El Paso County jail but has been placed on administrative leave without pay "pending termination."
A sheriff's spokeswoman declined to specify which drug D'Agostino allegedly had.
