A 29-year-old woman died Sunday night when she was crossing the street and hit by a car on the 1400 block of South Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs police said.

According to a witness, the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman entered the intersection on a green light, police department spokeswoman Barbara Miller said.

CSPD Lt. Brian Ritz said the driver was identified as Irvine Kellog, 76, of Colorado Springs.

The female pedestrian's identity has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin, which the El Paso County Coroner's Office is handling, Ritz said.

Kellog's vehicle was a blue Ford Crown Victoria, Miller said.

Police have not specified if Kellog will be facing charges for the fatal crash.
