Although the Discovery Canyon softball team had an early exit from the 2017 playoffs, the Thunder are still racking up postseason accolades, led by senior Corah Price, who was named a CHSAA 4A 1st team all-star, announced Wednesday.

As the Thunder's ace, Price completed the season 17-5 with a 2.51 ERA, and racked up an astounding 180 strikeouts in 130 innings pitched, and threw nine shutouts. She also boasted a .456 batting average and had 31 RBIs.

St. Mary's Peyton Richter earned a spot on the CHSAA 3A second team after leading the Pirates to their first state playoff appearance in 11 years. Richter had the team's top batting average by nearly 150 points, hitting .609, and slugging an impressive 1.028. She was also the team's lone wolf in the circle, pitching 111 innings for a 13-7 record and a 3.14 ERA.

Pine Creek senior Camille Lucas was named a 5A honorable mention, accompanied by Rampart's Shelby Shepherd.

Briana Atencio of Canon City earned a 4A honorable mention, along with Cassidy Horn of Air Academy, Cheyenne Mountain's Katelynn Ralston, Amber Rees of Discovery Canyon, and Katrina Robertson of Mesa Ridge.

In 3A, Cassidy Bueno of James Irwin was named an honorable mention, while Mackenzie Pepper of St. Mary's round out the area's 3A honors.
