Device found at Peyton post office considered not dangerous

An investigation into a possible explosive device at the Peyton post office Friday morning turned out to be a false alarm, KRDO reports.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office was investigating the incident after the device was found early Friday morning.

Initial reports by KRDO and KVOR said the device was suspected to be a grenade. Upon further investigation, deputies determined it to be a "novelty grenade," KRDO said via Twitter.
