DENVER — Adams County sheriff's deputies gunned down a man who aimed a shotgun at them outside a bar early Thanksgiving morning.

The Denver Post reports that the shooting happened at Rookies Saloon and Restaurant in Strasburg (http://goo.gl/9EJi2N).

No deputies were injured. The name of the dead suspect has not been released pending notification of family members.

The suspect had been at the bar earlier. Police say that as the bar owner and patrons were leaving for the night, they saw him near the bar holding a shotgun. They re-entered the bar and called 911.

When two deputies arrived, they chased the man on foot and shot him when he aimed his gun at them. The suspect didn't fire his weapon.

The names of the deputies have not been released.
